Profile Summary

Akuete Giana MATHEY-APOSSAN is the Founder and CEO of HOPE FOR AFRIKA, a consulting firm with expertise in Technology and Innovation (Digitalization, automation), Public Policy (Data-Driven Decision Making Process), and Program/Project Management (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall).  He holds certified and proven credentials in building company automation from scratch (infrastructures, software, security, policies, governance, and change management) qualifying him as a digital transformation expert. Giana is the only certified authorized trainer in Program/Project Manager (ISO 21502:2020, PMP®, PRINCE2®, PRINCE2 Agile®, MSP®, MoR®, PC Scrum Master® I & II, ITIL® 4, COBIT®5) in Togo, Rwanda, and Liberia. He is an E-Governance Specialist leading economical and governance transformation through automation to promote Accountability, Transparency, Effectiveness, and Efficiency. He was recently a Project Manager consultant on the digitalization of the Liberia Revenue Authority.  Giana worked for the UN System in South Sudan, the newest country on earth where he led in designing and implementing the automation of the Revenue Authorities at the state and the National level from 2018 to 2021. Giana was a consultant with the World Bank Group providing technical assistance in the IT change management streams of the pilot project in Education accountability in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Before that Giana was Information System Manager at Castel Group(BB Lome S.A), the biggest brewery in his country, for four (4) years.  Previously, he spent more than seven years as an IT Manager in three main public administration departments: tax services (DGI), statistics direction (DGSCN), and airport safety agency (ASAIGE).  Through automation, Giana wishes to apply his digitalization and project management skills in the public sector, impacting and improving the population’s life conditions (efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, and accountability in the citizens' service deliveries). He has honed governance, management, and operations skills that added value to every organization with which he has worked.  Giana earned his Executive Master of Public Administration from Maxwell School at Syracuse University, the N1 school in Public Management & Leadership in the USA; he is pursuing another Executive Master in Information Systems. He holds also IT Engineering degrees (Bachelor's in Computer Science and Master in Information Technology) and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Groupe BK University and holds main certifications from PMI, Axelos, PeopleCert, APMG, WES, Scrum, PECB, Microsoft & Cisco.
