Garry Barnes, CISA CISM CGEIT CRISC MAICD ISO/IEC27001 Lead Implementer is international vice president of ISACA and Practice Lead, Governance Advisory at Vital Advisory. Garry has over 25 years of experience in information security, IT audit and risk management in banking, the public sector and consulting.  Garry has held numerous roles in consulting, risk management, security management and IT audit.   Garry also shares his knowledge and experience by presenting training courses and as a presenter at global seminars and conferences. At Vital Advisory, Garry leads the Governance Advisory service, delivering thought leadership to his clients in public and private sectors. Garry also volunteers for ISACA, where he has held many roles including International Vice President, Treasurer, member of ISACA’s Strategic Advisory Council and Credentialing and Career Management Board, chair of the CISM Certification Committee, and an exam item writer for CISM certification. He has also participated in working groups to develop COBIT 5 and provided subject matter expert review of many ISACA publications.  He is a past president of the Sydney Chapter of ISACA, and has also held various chapter roles including treasurer, and membership and certification director.
