Sekou has over twenty years of experience in the field of health, banking, insurance, telecommunication, software, government and not-for- profit audits. He specialized in, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO /IEC22301, IT Security, Vendor Risk Management, GRC, HIPAA, PCI, and SOX Audit strategy, driving global organizational governance, Program Management, NIST, 800-30, IRS Basel III / CRD IV compliance. In that capacity, he gathered detailed Business requirements, developed IT-audit programs and performed security & privacy risk assessments at industry leading organizations. Sekou Kamara graduated in 1986 from the University of Colorado in the field of Business Administration – Accounting and Auditing. In 2001, he was awarded with the Certification of Information System Auditor (CISA) and began his journey as an IT auditor. The same year, he obtained his master certificate of Computer Information Systems: Database technologies from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. He is currently a Senior Lead Auditor certified in ISO/EIC 27001 He started his professional career working with one of the largest consulting firm "Big four" Arthur Anderson. His first client, Excel Energy in Denver, Colorado was a Fortune 500 company and first hand, he had to experience working in a fast pace environment where the client was publicly traded and quarterly earning reports had to be regularly reviewed. His journey as a Senior IT auditor lead him to audit entities such as the Denver International Airport (DIA), The US Treasury Department (USDT) and the US Postal Service (USPS). In 2005, he joined ING bank's Internal Audit Department, where for five years, he audited various technologies in multiple countries around the Globe. In 2011, he started his career as an Independent Senior IT Auditor/Consultant and he assisted implement different ISO standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 22310, ISO 20000, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. He worked for word class organizations such as Kaiser Permanente. PWC and the IT Office of the Governor of Colorado.
