Former Assessment Manager – Certification Bodies at UKAS

He is currently the Managing Director of MGX Consultants Ltd., which is a UK-based company offering management systems consultancy and assistance in meeting organizational and compliance objectives and requirements. Prior to this role, he was the Assessment Manager at UK Accreditation Service, where some of his main responsibilities were managing the portfolio of Certification Bodies and leading ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015, ISO/IEC17065:2012, and ISO17020:2012 assessments of Certification Bodies.

Martin has had many important roles during his career and he has over 30 years of work experience in engineering, quality management, and manufacturing. Among these positions, he has previously held the role of Assessment Manager for Certification Bodies for the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, Quality Manager for Systems Improvement at AWE, Senior Quality Engineer at Kidde Graviner, etc. During this long career with many organizations, he has gained knowledge of many different ISO and other standards, such as AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, QS9000, and ISO 9001, as well as different process improvement techniques, such as Just in Time, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing. 

Martin holds a first-class hand honors Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Design and Manufacture from the University of Plymouth, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Leicester, and is a member of the Chartered Quality Professional Institute in the UK.
