Profile for Yvette Castell  Dr. Yvette Castell is a Certified Lead Assessor and Technical Assessor and currently performs accreditation assessments to the ISO/IEC 17020:2012, ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 and ISO/IEC 17065:2012 standards. She is a Chartered Quality Professional with the Chartered Quality Institute in the United Kingdom and a Certified Professional Evaluation and Certification Board ISO 9001 Lead Implementer, ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager and Trainer. She has been involved in quality management system (QMS) development, implementation, maintenance, auditing and training since 1992. Dr. Castell led the certification effort for the first ISO 9002:1994 certified company in Jamaica in 1995 and has conducted quality audits in the manufacturing, civil construction, health, public administration, education, and other business sectors in Jamaica as well as in the United States of America. She became involved with environmental management systems (EMS) in 2007 as a trained Lead EMS Auditor and Executive Committee Member for review of EMS audit packages. Dr. Castell holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Walden University (self-design with concentration in marketing and innovation), a Master of Science degree in Strategic Quality Management from the University of Portsmouth (England), Post Graduate Diplomas in Information Technology, and Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Chemistry from the University of the West Indies (Mona).    Dr. Castell received QMS training through a fellowship from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, and Perry Johnson Registrar. She is a certified Lead QMS and EMS auditor and a member of the Executive Committee for review of audit packages for the National Certification Body of Jamaica. She has also received training in FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 Food Safety System Certification, Enterprise Risk Management, ISO 17020 Conformity Assessment - Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and online Facilitation/Course Coordination among various other training.   In support of her philosophy based on the challenge - “Changing the world one life at a time”, Dr. Castell is the coordinator and a mentor for the Girls of Eloquence Morals and Standards Ministry of the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. She was a foundation volunteer teacher at the evening institute of the New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church where she prepared students to sit Human and Social Biology in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate for over six years.
