Certified Cloud Security Analyst

Why Should You Attend?

This course bridges the gap between basic cloud familiarity and the specialized mindset required to defend modern cloud environments. Whether you are a system or network administrator transitioning to the cloud, a security professional tasked with protecting cloud infrastructure, or a compliance officer needing to understand cloud-specific risks, this course will transform your approach to cloud security.

You will learn to see past the simplicity of the management console, harden misconfigurations before they become breaches, and master the principles of identity, network, and data protection across AWS and GCP with a defender’s precision.

Who Should Attend?

This training course is intended for:

  • System and network administrators responsible for deploying and managing workloads in AWS or GCP who need to integrate security from the ground up
  • Security analysts and SOC team members transitioning from on-premise environments who must learn to monitor, detect, and respond to cloud-native threats
  • Compliance and risk officers tasked with governing cloud environments who need to understand the shared responsibility model and cloud-specific control frameworks
  • IT professionals seeking to pivot into cloud security who require a structured, hands-on foundation in identity management, network controls, and data protection
  • Security consultants and auditors who need to assess cloud configurations against industry best practices and identify critical misconfigurations before attackers do

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain cloud security service models and the shared responsibility model, and identify the role of analysts in securing cloud environments
  2. Apply cloud data security practices, detect lateral movement and crypto mining attacks, and effectively isolate and mitigate cloud-based threats
  3. Utilize security tools and monitoring techniques in AWS and Azure, including AWS IAM policies, CloudWatch, and Azure security monitoring, to safeguard cloud infrastructures
  4. Implement secure practices for Kubernetes and Docker, including encryption, scaling, and persistent data management, while securing containers in cloud environments

Educational Approach

  • The course includes theory foundations, hands-on labs, and practical exercises that merge knowledge with applied skill.
  • Participants are strongly encouraged to interact with one another, exchange ideas, and actively participate in discussions.

PECB offers various training course delivery formats, from traditional classroom settings to modern, technology-driven solutions. To learn more about these formats, please click here.

Prerequisites

Candidates are expected to possess a solid foundation of core IT and networking concepts, as this background is essential for applying cloud security principles effectively. Familiarity with basic command-line operations, fundamental networking such as TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S, and general system administration concepts is expected. This foundational knowledge will enable participants to fully engage with the course’s hands-on, lab-driven learning environment.

Day 1: Cloud security, governance, and identity access management

Day 2: Data security and cloud threats

Day 3: AWS and Azure security operating

Day 4: Docker and Kubernetes in the cloud

Day 5: Certification exam

The “PECB Certified Cloud Security Analyst” exam fully meets the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) requirements. It covers the following competency domains:

  • Domain 1: Cloud security fundamentals, governance, and compliance
  • Domain 2: Identity and access management and cloud data security
  • Domain 3: Cloud threat detection, lateral movement, and attack isolation
  • Domain 4: Cloud security monitoring and log management
  • Domain 5: Container security with Docker and Kubernetes
