The ISO 14001:2026 Transition training course is designed to give participants a thorough understanding of what has changed between ISO 14001:2015 and the newly released ISO 14001:2026. It also provides a clear and structured overview of the updated standard, outlining its key concepts and overall framework in a concise and coherent manner
The ISO 14001:2026 Transition training course delivers a detailed overview of the principal changes introduced in the revised version of ISO 14001, released in April 2026, more than a decade after the previous edition. These revisions reflect the increasing urgency of global environmental challenges and bring targeted improvements that organizations certified under or aligned with ISO 14001 need to fully understand. Although the standard retains its well-established Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) structure and overall framework, the updated requirements raise expectations in the areas of environmental performance, risk-based thinking, and long-term sustainability.
Among the most notable changes covered in this course are an increased focus on broader environmental conditions, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and resource scarcity, when analyzing the organizational context. The training course also examines the reinforced life cycle perspective in identifying environmental aspects, the newly formalized approach to managing change under clause 6.3 Planning of changes, and the revised planning logic for risks and opportunities. Altogether, these changes reflect a clear move toward more deliberate, measurable, and demonstrable environmental performance.
Upon completing the training course, you will be eligible to sit for the exam. If you successfully pass the exam, you can apply for the “PECB Certified ISO 14001:2026 Transition” credential. This internationally recognized certificate demonstrates that you possess the knowledge and professional capabilities to transition and update an environmental management system (EMS) in line with the revised ISO 14001:2026 requirements.
