I will talk about management review, it’s a common requirement for several management system standards that is one of the most important requirements in the world of Quality Management Systems. The requirement in the standard specifies that top management shall review the organization’s Quality Management System at planned intervals to ensure its continuity, suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness. What I suggest and propose to implement in this requirement is considered like a process with several activities with inputs and outputs. The activities are mainly the gathering, the collecting the data and information from several processes like internal audit, stakeholders satisfaction, and measurement and monitoring several indicators and quality performance indicators.
What should be the first activity of the management review?
The main proposal of the first activity is to analyze and evaluate through the target and the objectives of Quality Management Systems, to make decisions and the need for changes in the Quality Management Systems and identification opportunities for improvements. All of these changes, improvements and opportunities shall be coordinated with change management process and follow like an Internal audit that the actions should be followed by internal action.
What should be the inputs and outputs of the management review?
The inputs, the collecting from several processes should be taken carefully and the data should be adequate and reliable to take the right decisions. The outputs of this process, review management process should be the decisions to establish if the Quality Management System should be changed in several aspects like results, financial or human resources or implementing other processes.
What are the challenges and opportunities of the management review?
The challenges and opportunities for this requirement in this new version of the standard is to combine the risk-based thinking in the management review. Take care of all change that could occur and its an important review activity that should be taken for leading top management and the managers from the organization.
What should be integrated with management review?
This management review should also be integrated with the cycle of the accountability of the organization and linking directly with the strategic direction of the organization. In this matter, in this aspect the management review should be very linked with the strategic directions and following all of the changing issues in the external and internal issues. This is the demanding opportunities that management review should have in this environment so like a process we should also establish the objectives, the goals, and performance indicators for management review and continually improve management review process.
