Standard)<\/h5><p><strong>Version 1.0 <\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Effective October 1, 2026<\/strong><\/p><p><em>READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR ORDER OR ACCESSING ANY STANDARD.<\/em><\/p><p><em> By selecting the acceptance checkbox, you acknowledge that you have read this Agreement and agree to be bound by its terms. If you do not agree, do not complete your order or access or use any Standard. <\/em><\/p><p>PECB Store is a digital store operated and owned by PECB Group Inc. (hereby PECB). PECB is an Authorized Reseller of International Organization for Standardization (hereby ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (hereby IEC) under its agreement with the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). ISO Standards are published by the ISO and IEC Standards are published by the IEC. All intellectual property rights in ISO and\/or IEC Standards remain exclusively with ISO and IEC. Nothing in this Agreement transfers or assigns any intellectual property rights, and no act taken under this Agreement creates any ownership interest or adjacent proprietary claim in any Standard.<\/p><h4>1. Scope of Agreement<\/h4><p>This Customer License Agreement (the Agreement) sets out the terms under which the single named end-user, either as an individual or within one legal entity (hereby you or the Licensee) may access and use ISO and IEC standards made available electronically through the PECB Store. This Agreement does not apply to PECB&#8217;s own training, certification or eLearning products, which are governed by separate terms.<\/p><h5>1.1. License Grant<\/h5><p><em>When you obtain a Standard through the PECB Store, you are being granted a single-user license to access and use it only as permitted herein. <\/em><\/p><p>Any reference to a &#8220;price&#8221;, &#8220;purchase&#8221;, or &#8220;sale&#8221; in an invoice, order confirmation or payment screen refers only to the applicable license fee and does not transfer ownership of the Standard or its content. With the single-user license, only the licensee can access and use the Standard.<\/p><h5>A. What You May Do<\/h5><p>Under the Single-user License, you may:<\/p><ul><li>access, view, read and consult the Standard;<\/li><li>apply the Standard for internal reference purposes within your organization;<\/li><li>print a single copy of the Standard for private use;<\/li><li>download and store an electronic copy on your personal device;<\/li><\/ul><h5>B. What You May Not Do<\/h5><p>Under the Single-user License, you may NOT:<\/p><ul><li>copy, scan, reproduce, or duplicate any Standard in whole or in part beyond what Clause A expressly permits;<\/li><li>share, distribute, transmit, publish, post, upload, or otherwise make any Standard available to third parties beyond the licensed scope;<\/li><li>sublicense, rent, lend, sell, or otherwise transfer any Standard or any rights under this Agreement to any third party.<\/li><li>modify, adapt, translate, or create any derivative work from any Standard.<\/li><li>remove, alter, obscure, or circumvent any copyright notice, watermark, proprietary marking, or any technological protection measures or digital rights management controls applied to any Standard.<\/li><li>resell, redistribute or otherwise commercially exploit the Standard or its content.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>2. Prohibition on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Uses<\/h4><p>You must not access, upload, use or process any Standard, in whole or in part, for or in connection with any artificial intelligence, machine learning or analogues computational purpose, unless separately authorized in writing by PECB. This prohibition includes, without limitation: Text and data mining, training or fine-tuning of machine learning or evaluation of machine learning or large language models, automated content extraction, vectorization, embedding, transformation, or any other computational processing of Standard content. This restriction reflects a condition under which Standards are made available to PECB, and PECB passes it on to you accordingly. Purchasing or accessing a Standard through the PECB Store does not grant you any right or license, express or implied, for any AI, Machine Learning, or analogous computational purpose. If you require such use, PECB may assist you in referring the request to the applicable rights holder and any resulting permission shall require a separate agreement.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>3. Term and Termination<\/h4><p><strong>3.1<\/strong> This agreement takes effect when you order or access a Standard through the PECB Store, and remains in effect for as long as you retain any authorized copy of, or access to, that Standard, unless earlier terminated as set out below.<\/p><p><strong>3.2<\/strong> PECB may terminate the license by written notice if you fail to comply with this Agreement.<\/p><p>Upon termination:<\/p><ul><li>Immediate termination of your access to all Standards.<\/li><li>You must irretrievably delete all electronic copies of the Standard in your possession or control.<\/li><li>You must destroy or take down all copies or uses produced made under the license, or as a result of a breach.<\/li><li>Suspension of your PECB Store account.<\/li><li>Legal action by ISO, IEC, SCC, or PECB for copyright infringement and\/or breach of contract.<\/li><li>A claim for damages, including the costs of any compliance audit triggered by the breach.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>4. Watermarks and Document Security<\/h4><p>Electronic copies of Standards are watermarked with your account information. The watermark identifies the licensee and must not be removed, altered or obscured. Electronic files may also contain security controls intended to prevent unauthorized copying, sharing or distribution. You must not disable, bypass, circumvent or remove these controls.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>5. Compliance Verification<\/h4><p>If PECB has reasonable grounds to believe that you are not complying with this Agreement, PECB may request information to verify your compliance. You agree to provide timely response and cooperate upon such requests. PECB may share relevant information about your license and usage information with SCC, ISO and IEC to the extent required based on Authorized Reseller obligations.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability<\/h4><p>Standards are provided on an &#8220;as is&#8221; basis. To the maximum extent permitted by statutory or contractual obligations, PECB makes no warranties regarding the Standards accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. PECB\u2019s total liability relating to any Standard is limited to the license fee paid for that Standard. PECB is not liable for any indirect, special, consequential or punitive damages. Nothing in this Article limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>7. Governing Law<\/h4><p>This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada are applicable therein. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec, Canada.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>8. Changes to This Agreement<\/h4><p>PECB may modify this Agreement from time to time. Any modified version will be published on the PECB Store with a revised effective date and shall apply to future orders. The version in effect when the order is placed shall be the governing one.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4>9.
