IAS LogoPECB is honored to announce that it has been granted the ISO/IEC 17021 accreditation by International Accreditation Service (IAS). PECB has successfully met the Accreditation Criteria for Management System Certification Bodies under ISO/IEC 17021-1: Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems. The IAS assessment also included compliance of related normative standards under the ISO/IEC 17021 series.

“We are profoundly proud and delighted to be accredited by IAS, as a Management Systems Certification Body. This achievement will give additional recognition, credibility and confidence to our clients who earn PECB certification,” said Faton Aliu, President and COO of PECB. While the CEO of PECB, Eric Lachapelle, added “Obtaining accreditation from IAS for ISO/IEC 17021 and expanding the certification services reflects our commitment to excellence, competence and approach to continually improve towards achieving our vision in becoming global benchmark for the provision of professional certification services.”

“The International Accreditation Service (IAS) issued its eleventh accreditation under its Management System Certification Body (MSCB) Accreditation Program to PECB based in Montreal, Canada in October 2015.  IAS congratulates PECB on this achievement,” said Mohan Sabaratnam, Program and Quality Manager at The International Accreditation Service (IAS). “This attests that PECB is in compliance with ISO/IEC Standard 17021 and has met all the IAS requirements for MSCB accreditation to provide audits and certifications in their approved disciplines. Refer to IAS website for more information on the approved scope of accreditation,” he added.

In order to be awarded with the accreditation, IAS conducted a verification and validation process to ensure that PECB is impartial and objective as a certification body. It also confirmed that PECB’s certification process is conducted in a consistent, comparable and reliable manner. This process required rigorous quality reviews of PECB processes and its certification programs. The process used by IAS to accredit certification bodies is based on an international standard (ISO/IEC 17021 series).
With the new business line available, now PECB will provide audits and certifications of management systems in Quality Management Systems with ISO 9001, Environmental Management Systems with 14001, Information Security Management Systems with ISO/IEC 27001, and Business continuity Management Systems with ISO 22301. IAS accredits testing and calibration laboratories, inspection agencies, management system certification bodies, personnel certification bodies, and product certification agencies. IAS maintains signatory status with the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) for accreditation of testing, calibration, inspection programs and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) for product certification and management system programs in the disciplines of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and environmental management systems (ISO 14001).
