Amalia is a passionate privacy, IT, risk, and information governance and management professional who has made it her mission to educate businesses about the importance of privacy for their corporate reputation and resilience.
Amalia works with Chief Privacy and Compliance Officers and CISOs in the health, pharmaceutical, banking, telecom, and fintech idustries, retail, advertising and marketing, aerospace, and public sector around the world, giving advice on structuring the privacy program and alignment with internal GRC and cybersecurity efforts.
Amalia has served on many Boards in the Toronto, Canada area and is an influencer in the privacy community. She served on the Canadian IAPP Advisory Board, PMI (as Director on the Board of Directors of the Toronto Chapter), and is an Advisor of the ISACA Toronto Chapter, helping in establishing a mentoring program for young privacy professionals entering the profession.
Amalia has authored and co-authored and is currently teaching business courses at University of Toronto and Seneca College, in the areas of IT risk management, cybersecurity risk governance, and privacy.
Amalia is a frequent speaker at cybersecurity and privacy events around the world.
